Stolen vehicle involved in crash near Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-A stolen vehicle was involved in a single vehicle crash near Fenelon Falls on November 30th.

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Police were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Bury’s Green Road in Somerville Township just before midnight.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that the motor vehicle involved in the collision, a white Toyota 4Runner had allegedly been stolen from St. Catharines earlier that day. Police say they located and seized from the vehicle two firearms, ammunition, break-in tools and unmarked cigarettes.

As a result the male driver, Caleb BEACH, 19 years-old of St. Catharines, ON has been charged with:
•Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5000 in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
• Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the CC
•Possess Break in Instruments contrary to section 351(1) of the CC
•Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the CC
•Possess of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Probation Order contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC
•Possess unmarked cigarettes contrary to section 29(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act (TTA)

A male passenger, Nicholas SHAVER, 18 years-old, of North Middlesex, ON has been charged with:
•Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5000 in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC
• Disobeying court order contrary to section 127 of the CC
