Charges laid in hit and run crash near Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP have found a driver who allegedly fled the scene of a crash near Bobcaygeon in September.

Police were called to the crash at approximately 8:30pm on September 16th in the area of Kings Warf Road and Pigeon Lake Road. It was reported that a vehicle and a motorcycle collided. Police say prior to officers arriving a red pick-up truck with damage to the left front bumper had allegedly fled the scene.

The driver of the bike had to be airlifted to hospital but is said to be doing better.

Through investigation the pick-up truck was located and seized on September 17, 2017. Subsequent investigation has led to Barry Macintyre, 37 years of age of Janetville, being arrested and charged on October 2, 2017 with Fail To Stop At Scene of Accident, Fail To Remain and Fail To Report Accident.
