Vehicle stolen in Durham found in Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Three young people are facing charges after police found a stolen vehicle in Kawartha Lakes.

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle observed in the area of Quaker Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Durham Region.

When officers arrived at approximately 7:45 pm Tuesday night they says the stolen vehicle was located and a group of young people were observed fleeing the area on foot.

After an investigation, three young persons were arrested and charged with a number of offences including:

  •  Trespassing at Night contrary to section 177 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CCC
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) CCC

Two young people were released and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, Youth Division, on October 17, 2017. The third young person was held for a bail hearing.
