Community bench stolen in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Residents looking to kick back and put their feet up on Durham Street West will be out of luck.

The owner of a community bench on Durham street advised police that they put the multi coloured bench by the sidewalk in front of his residence two years ago for people to use as they walk by. There was also a metal water bowl for dogs to drink out of. The bench had written on it, “Alley’s rest spot four all”, and was used daily.

During the night hours of September 2nd, 2017, unknown person(s) removed the bench and water bowl. A wire cord was wrapped around the bench and a nearby tree but was not locked, only held closed by a clasp.

If anyone has information regarding the missing bench they are asked to contact Police at 705.324.5252 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can contact Crimestoppers at 1.888.222.TIPS(8477)
