Baseball bat used in alleged assault

KAWARTHA LAKES-A scary Saturday morning for residents of a Lindsay home after a man allegedly broke in and assaulted another man using a baseball bat.

Police received a 911 call from the home indicating that a man had thrown a brick through a window of the home, entered and was assaulting another man with a baseball bat shortly after 11am. The altercation had ended by the time police arrived but the man was still at the home, where he was subsequently arrested. It was learned that the man was known to the occupants of the home and that he had wanted to speak with a female resident of the home. He became agitated when she asked him to leave he went outside for a bit and then broke into the home.

The man was detained in custody on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000.00 and Failing to Comply with a Condition of a Probation Order. The name of the man is not being released to protect the privacy of the victim.
