Counterfeit money turns up in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police are warning local business owners after counterfeit American Currency surfaced in Lindsay over the weekend.

A Kent Street restaurant contacted police on June 8th at 10:30am after discovering a counterfeit $100 American note in the previous day’s till. Police say the investigation into the identity of the person tendering the note is continuing through video surveillance and canvassing.

Police say business owners should be vigilant when accepting large bills.
