UPDATE: Police have recovered the body of a teen who went missing in Algonquin Provincial Park. Killaloe OPP say he had been part of a high school canoeing trip and went missing while swimming in Big Trout Lake.

According to officers he went under the water and did not resurface at approximately 8pm Tuesday night. The teen is from CW Jeffries Secondary School in Toronto. Family members of the missing male have been contacted.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) conducted a preliminary search of the area. The search continues today with the assistance of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, (ERT) and the Ministry of Natural Resources, (MNR).
