16 students injured after two buses collide in Haliburton

Fifty one students were on board two busses that collided this morning shortly after 11 am.

The Haliburton Highlands OPP, Haliburton County Paramedic Services (HCPS) and the Dysart et Al Fire Services responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 118 near White Camp Pine Court in the Township of Dysart et Al. Police say the vehicles were travelling one behind the other when one bus ran into the back of the other bus.

More than fifty students from the Toronto area were on board and 16 students were transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
