Teen now facing charges after alleged “threat” made to Fenelon Falls high school

A 16 year old has now been charged after an incident at Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS)on Tuesday.

Police say they responded to the school yesterday after FFSS staff was alerted to an image being distributed through social media.

Following an investigation the youth has been charged with Mischief and Common Nuisance.The accused cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The school was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a “threat” was allegedly made.

Police from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP got the call at approximately 2pm and a “Hold and Secure” was initially put in place while a threat was investigated.  Police say when the identified suspect couldn’t be located the school was put into a “Lockdown” in order to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The youth cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
