Woman charged after allegedly almost hitting police car while driving the wrong way on the highway

A close call for OPP officers after a woman allegedly almost plowed into them while driving the wrong way on Highway 115.

Officers were traveling northbound on Highway 115 near Ashburnham Drive in Peterborough when they say they were forced to take evasive action to avoid a southbound vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes on May 8th.

They managed to get the vehicle stopped on Neal Drive in the City of Peterborough where officers say they found pot and the driver allegedly impaired.

A 36 year old woman from Barrie has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession and refusing to provide a breath sample.
