There’s a new person at the helm of the Lindsay and District Chamber of Commerce.
Mike Perry, of the Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team, will lead the Chamber for the next year. Perry says his main goal is to continue to build on the recent successes of the past Board of Directors under the leadership of Past President Marlene Morrison Nicholls.
He says ” My priorities as President for 2017/18 include, increasing Chamber membership and our business services to help our members maximize success; enhancing collaboration with our area’s Business Improvement Associations (BIAs); working directly with the Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Coboconk/Norland Chambers of Commerce to ensure a coherent approach to business and economic development for our broader community; leveraging our status as a Chamber of Commerce to help with local job creation; and seeing how the Chamber can help promote rural transportation.”
Perry goes on to say the chamber will be developing a strategic plan this summer and will be consulting with the public over the next year.
Perry grew up in Fenelon Falls and served on the Board of the Fenelon Falls & District Chamber of Commerce years ago. Â He is currently Executive Director of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team. Perry is a lawyer and social worker by trade and has been involved in the City’s Business Retention and Expansion Project, Junior Achievement, and efforts to establish a community foundation in our area to fund gaps in local economic development.
He currently serves on the Board of Governors of Fleming College and Chairs the Bobcaygeon Food Bank.
