The Miss Vickie’s® is voluntarily recalling Jalapeño-flavoured kettle cooked potato chips due to the potential presence of Salmonella in the seasoning used in the product after a supplier’s recent recall of a seasoning blend which includes jalapeño powder that could contain Salmonella. Although no Salmonella was found in the finished seasoning supplied to Miss Vickie’s®, the company has decided out of an abundance of caution to recall this one product.
No illnesses related to this matter have been reported to date. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. Most individuals recover without treatment. In some cases, diarrhea may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. The elderly, infants and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.

- 40 gram bags of Jalapeño-flavoured Miss Vickie’s® kettle cooked potato chips
- UPC: 060410001769 with “Guaranteed Fresh” dates of June 20 or earlier
- Sold in foodservice outlets and vending machines
- 66 gram bags of Jalapeño-flavoured Miss Vickie’s® kettle cooked potato chips
- UPC: 060410017142 with “Guaranteed Fresh” dates of June 20 or earlier
- Sold in grocery, drug and mass retailers
- 220 gram bags of Jalapeño-flavoured Miss Vickie’s® kettle cooked potato chips
- UPC: 060410066386 with “Guaranteed Fresh” dates of June 20 or earlier
- Sold in grocery, drug and mass retailers
The company is working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to ensure the products are removed from the marketplace and no longer distributed.
