Minden man charged with fraud in Lindsay

A Minden area man was arrested on Tuesday night on outstanding warrants for a fraud that was committed in Lindsay in January, 2017 according to police.

Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a downtown Lindsay electronics store after it was discovered that a man had allegedly purchased a $4000.00 fridge and other merchandise with a fraudulent credit card. The man left with the fridge before the fraudulent card being discovered police say. An investigation determined that the man had also apparently used the credit card to rent a U-Haul trailer, which he used to transport the fridge. Police believe the man was responsible for similar occurrences in the Toronto and York Region areas.
Charged with three counts of Using a Fraudulent Credit Card and Fraud Under $5000.00 is 32-year-old Joseph Jason Allen of Minden Ontario.
