Police looking for suspect after violent armed robbery in Oshawa

An Esso gas station was robbed at gunpoint in Oshawa early this morning according to police.

A lone male robbed the Esso gas station just before 4am. The suspect, who was allegedly armed with a firearm, approached the store employee and demanded cash. The suspect assaulted the victim and then stole her personal vehicle.  The store employee suffered minor injuries.

Police later received information about a suspicious vehicle that was involved in a single vehicle collision. Witnesses advised the suspect was observed getting into the passenger side of a dark coloured SUV, which fled the scene.

The suspect is described as: male, white, approximately 30-40 years old, with a heavy build.  He was wearing a motorcycle helmet to conceal his identity.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
