The Canada Post Office on Rye Street in Peterborough was evacuated this morning after police received information about a suspicious package.

A command post was set up and the Durham Regional Police Canine Unit called in to look for the package. It is specifically trained in this type of search according to police.

Neighbouring businesses were also evacuated and closed for police to investigate.

After a thorough search of the building nothing was found. All employees were allowed back into the building and businesses reopened this afternoon.
