HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS-The Haliburton Highlands OPP is warning the public of a recent scam impacting local businesses. Police say the fraudsters are advising businesses that the fire department will be attending to conduct a fire inspection. These phone calls are not being generated by the local fire departments.
Please be mindful if you receive a call of this nature and contact your local fire department directly to confirm any scheduled meetings or inspections. When it doubt, slow things down. Do not provide personal or business information over the phone.
