KAWARTHA LAKES-Three people are facing charges following a report of a possible fraud in progress at a local car dealership in Lindsay on Tuesday August 25th.
Officers responded to the dealership and commenced an investigation. During the course of the investigation, several individuals were found to be in possession of fraudulent identification documents, leading to additional criminal charges according to police.
As a result, three individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A 59-year-old male from Milton has been charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000, Section 380(1)(a)
- Possession of an Identity Document, Section 56.1
- Personation with Intent, Section 403(1)(b)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Section 354(1)(a)
A 24-year-old male from St. Catharines has been charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000, Section 380(1)(a)
- Possession of an Identity Document, Section 56.1
A 31-year-old female from Concord has been charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000, Section 380(1)(a)
- Possession of an Identity Document, Section 56.1
All three accused were later released from custody with future court dates.
