KAWARTHA LAKES-A-16-year old boy is facing serious charges following a dispute in Cramahe Township.
On August 19, 2026, shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to an address on Deele Road in the Township of Cramahe after receiving a report of a youth brandishing an edged weapon during a verbal altercation.
Officers responded and took one person into custody. Police say further investigation revealed that the youth had brandished a firearm and taken a vehicle without permission during a previous incident. No injuries were reported.
As a result, a 16-year-old male from the Township of Cramahe has been charged with:
– Pointing a firearm
– Unauthorized use of a firearm
– Mischief under $5,000
– Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
– Take motor vehicle without consent
The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. The accused shall not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
