KAWARTHA LAKES-The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision in Somerville Township.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, shortly after 2:00 p.m., members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 35 near Royal Cedar Road. A police vehicle was involved in the collision according to officials.
Three people, including an officer, sustained injuries and were transported to hospital.
The OPP notified the SIU, which invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information.
