ONTARIO-The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has charged an OPP officer in relation to an on-duty incident.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, an OPP officer in an unmarked cruiser initiated a traffic stop on Yonge Street in North York. Police say during the traffic stop, the officer discharged a conducted energy weapon (CEW). The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver was later transported to a hospital for assessment.
The OPP PSU launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
On Friday, July 24, 2026, Kevin Noh, 35 years old of Richmond Hill, who is a provincial constable with nine years of service, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Assault, section 266
- Assault with a weapon, section 267(a)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on Friday, October 2, 2026.
Provincial Constable NOH is a member of the OPP Highway Safety Division currently assigned to administrative duties.
