QUINTE-Officers with the Quinte West OPP, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit attended an area near Creswell Drive, Trenton, responding to a report of an assault on a dog and later on, the dog’s owner on Monday, July 13, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old of Quinte West was charged with the following offences:
- Killing or injuring animals
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
