Police Looking For Witnesses Or Video Of Collision That Closed Highway 35

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is investigating a serious collision that took place around 6:58 am on Thursday July 09, 2026.

Police along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a collision on Highway 35 near Bethany Hills Road in Manvers Township. The collision was between two vehicles, a passenger motor vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle. Highway 35 was closed while environmental crews completed their clean up. One driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Through investigation the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested and charged with offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway Traffic Act.

A 26-year-old woman 26 woman from Etobicoke was charged with:

  • Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm
  • Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
  • Attempt to Pass Roadway Not Clear Approaching Traffic
