Two Drivers Facing Impaired Charges Following Separate Incidents In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP charged two local drivers with impaired in separate incidents recently.

On Wednesday June 24, 2026 at approximately 8:38 pm, officers were dispatched to a two vehicle collision in Omemee. The driver was located, arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act offences.

A 50-year-old of Omemee was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to Remain
  • Careless Driving
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence
  • Fail to Report Accident

On Thursday June 25, 2026 at approximately 6:10 pm, officers were dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Monck Road near Head Lake. The driver was located, arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.

A 56-year-old of Dysart Et Al, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date and had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
