KAWARTHA LAKES-Beach water monitoring has resumed for all but three beaches in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Lakelands Public Health monitors beach water to ensure the safety and health of the community by detecting harmful contaminants and bacteria. Regular monitoring helps to prevent waterborne illnesses and protect the environment, allowing the public to enjoy recreational water activities with confidence.
All beaches in the City with the exception of three have tested low-risk or green which means they are safe for swimming.
Centennial Verulam Parkette on County Road 24 is closed until July 1, when testing season opens there.Â
Testing will starts for the Norland Bathing Area on Shadow Lake Road on July 1, 2026.Â
Omemee Beach is closed until July 1 when testing will start for the season.
