KAWARTHA LAKES-This photograph is taken at the Bobcaygeon’s fairgrounds, looking across the track towards the barn, that once stood beside the hill, roughly where the curling rink is now. Continuing on around the track, there was a judge’s stand on the south side, with open parkland between the track and the river. In the early twentieth century, the parade, horse races and animal shows were much anticipated events that drew a crowd. This barn later burned down, and the property has been reorganized, with barns on the south side of the track and the grandstands and exhibit hall on the north, backing into the hill.
