KAWARTHA LAKES-“Bolton Street at a different time. We have no exact date, but it is before 1913. We do not know what is in the left store, but the next one with the awning is J.J. Bardeau’s barbershop. Next is E.J. Wollard, the drug store, then the Bank of British North America, and on the end, the Dan Cain store with groceries. Next to that is the canal with the swing bridge.” After the fire on September 14, 1913, this block was rebuilt, with the Bank of British North America in a striking stone building on the corner.
