Routine Spring Watermain Flushing In Kawartha Lakes Starts In May

KAWARTHA LAKES-Routine spring watermain flushing for the Kawartha Lakes Drinking Water Systems (DWS) starts in May 2026.

Operators from the Ontario Clean Water Agency will flush the following DWS on these dates:

  • Southview Estates – May 7
  • Birch Point – May 12
  • Woodville – May 18 to May 29
  • Mariposa Estates – May 20
  • Kings Bay – May 20
  • Omemee – May 21
  • Canadiana Shores – May 26
  • Victoria Place – May 27
  • Western Trent/Palmina – May 28
  • Manorview – May 28
  • Woodfield – May 28
  • Norland – June 3
  • Kinmount – June 3
  • Janetville – June 10
  • Pleasant Point – June 16
  • Pinewood – June 24

Flushing in the Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, and Bobcaygeon systems will begin on May 19, 2026. City staff will work through these areas until flushing is complete.

Watermain flushing helps keep drinking water safe by removing built-up sediment in the pipes.

During flushing, you may notice cloudy or discoloured water. The City says this is normal and not harmful. If your water is discoloured, run your cold water tap until it clears. Check your water before using it for drinking, cooking, or laundry.

You may also notice a change in water pressure. This will return to normal once flushing is finished.
