PETERBOROUGH-Two 16-year-old Peterborough girls are facing a charge after an incident Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 3:10pm on April 12, 2026, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T were called to a business in the Marina Boulevard and Hilliard Street area after an employee reported being assaulted. Upon arrival to the area, officers were told that an employee at a store had been sprayed in the face with an air freshener. Officers started searching the area and spotted two girls matching the description given to police walking on a nearby trail. When the girls saw the officers, they started running away, the officers caught up with them and took them into custody according to police.
As a result of the investigation:
A 16-year-old Peterborough girl was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court, May 25, 2026.
