Weekend Weather Forecast For The City Of Kawartha Lakes

Cold Warning Issued

Bitterly cold conditions beginning this evening with wind chill values near minus 35 to minus 40 this evening into Saturday morning.

Bitterly cold conditions will begin this evening into Saturday morning, with wind chills near minus 35 to minus 40. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Cover up.

Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Check on older family, friends and neighbours. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.
