Impaired Driving Charge Laid Following Crash On Lakefield Road

PETERBOROUGH-OPP officers have charged one person with impaired driving as a result of investigating a collision.

On Tuesday December 2, 2025, at approximately 5:15pm, Peterborough County OPP officers received a call for service regarding a head-on collision on Lakefield Road in Selwyn Township. Witnesses advised one vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane where the two vehicles collided.

65-year-old Michael Rose of Douro-Dummer Township was arrested and charged with;

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 6, 2026 in Peterborough.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
