KAWARTHAS-Crews with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are battling four new fires since October 15.
HAL046 is the largest at 43 hectres. It began on October 15 and as of today it is classified as “being held”.
HAL050 is near Highway 66 south of Wilno. It is 13.4 hectares in size and began on October 15. It is “being held”.
HAL051 is west of BOB Lake and also began on October 15 and is 10.8 hectares. It is not under control.
HAL049 if off of Ashby Trout Lakes Road in Lennox and Addington County. It began the same day and is not under control. It is currently 1.5 hectres.
HAL038 has been burning since October 6 and is “being observed” at 5.2 hectares.
