KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges following a report of a man in possession of weapons at a residence on Sussex Street South in Lindsay.
On Friday, October 17, 2025, at approximately 5:40 am, members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a residence on Sussex Street South regarding a report of a male allegedly in possession of weapons.
KLPS officers arrived at approximately 5:40am and located the suspect who, was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was placed under arrest without incident. Police say a search incident to arrest revealed the individual was in possession of 3 grams of methamphetamine, 33 grams of fentanyl, and 13 grams of cocaine, and a quantity of Canadian currency.
The suspect was returned to the police station where a detailed search of his backpack led to the seizure of, a knuckle-style weapon, a canister of bear spray, and various items of drug paraphernalia according to police.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old male from Lindsay, has been charged with the following offences:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon at Unauthorized Place
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X3
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.
