King Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project In Omemee Begins October 8

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes says it is undertaking essential rehabilitation work on the King Street Bridge in Omemee to improve safety, extend the life of the structure, and enhance driving conditions.

The work includes:

  • Replacement of bridge expansion joints
  • Waterproofing and repaving of the bridge deck
  • Concrete repairs to the deck, sidewalks, abutments, and wingwalls
  • Installation of proprietary joint seals
  • Traffic control and detour management

Traffic Impacts and Detours

  • Regular Traffic: Westbound traffic maintained on King Street Bridge; eastbound traffic detoured via Mill Pond Bridge (Sturgeon Street South to Mary Street to Hughes Street South)
  • Truck Detour: Due to narrow lane widths (3.6 metres), large truck traffic will be rerouted via Sturgeon Street North, Peace Road, and Emily Park Road.

There’s no word on how long it will take to complete the project.
