Harvest Happenings Free Family Fun Event Coming To Maryboro Lodge In Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-If you want to have fun on Thanksgiving Weekend, be sure to visit Maryboro Lodge Museum on October 11 between 11 am and 4 pm. Harvest Happenings is a free family-oriented event with many fun, educational activities—it’s something for everyone. The event features wagon rides, a bouncy castle, a rocket launch, volcanic eruption, karaoke, spin art, arts and crafts activities and a community campfire with North Country Express. Mista Banana Balloona Mana will be twisting balloons into flowers, T-Rexes, fire breathing dragons, helicopters and just about anything else you can imagine. It’s a wonderful way to spend this holiday weekend with your community.

Harvest Happenings is located immediately beside the Turkey Trot, an event where runners and walkers can enjoy getting some exercise, while meeting new friends who share their interests. The Turkey Trot features 1 km, 5 km and 10 km distances, with categories for youth, adults and seniors. (To run in the race registration is required, see: www.fenelonfallsturkeytrot.ca.) With two special events side by side, Thanksgiving weekend in Fenelon Falls is twice as much fun!
Thanksgiving weekend is the last opportunity of the year to enjoy Maryboro Lodge Museum’s outdoor activities. Each day that the museum is open it offers a great variety of fun interactive things to do—dozens each day. They include a water table, larger than life croquet, a psychedelic slingshot, skee ball, ping pong, a drumming circle and many science-related educational activities. What makes these events magical is that you never know what creative idea someone will have next. There’s always something happening at your community cultural space on Cameron Lake.
