PETERBOROUGH-A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an investigation into cellphone video involving high rates of speed.
The Peterborough Police Traffic Management Unit was made aware of the cellphone video where the owner of the motor recorded himself traveling 2.5 times the posted speed limit on The Parkway (150 km/h in a 60km/h zone). Through investigation, officers were able to confirm the date, time, location and speed of the vehicle.

On Monday, September 8, 2025, the driver was located and charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – speeding by 40 or more km/hr in a zone that is less than 80km\h
- Speeding 150 km/h in a 60 km/h zone
- Drive – hand-held communication device
The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days.
