Joint Drug Trafficking Investigation Results In Charges For Four People, Drugs, Firearms And Ammunition Seized

PETERBOROUGH-The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with the Peterborough Police Service, has laid charges as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

In July 2025, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began investigating individuals believed to be involved in the distribution of controlled substances.

On August 26, 2025, OPP officers arrested two individuals in Englehart, who were allegedly found in possession of approximately 125 grams of suspected cocaine.

Search warrants were also executed at locations in North Kawartha Township, Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan and the Township of Selwyn.

As a result of the searches, police say they seized suspected cocaine, approximately 1.8 kilograms of suspected marijuana, additional cannabis products, cell phones, and items related to transaction records. Several firearms and handgun ammunition were also seized according to police.

39-year-old Jomo Frederick from the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan has been charged with:

–      Possession for the purpose of distributing Cannabis

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

–      Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

22-year-old Cameron Edwards from Peterborough has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Both individuals were held for bail to appear before Ontario Court of Justice.

Two additional individuals were arrested following the search of an address in the Township of Selwyn.

35-year-old Kassandra Immings from the Township of Selwyn, has been charged with:

–      Breach of firearms regulation – store firearm or restricted weapon – three counts

–      Unauthorized possession of a firearm – six counts

–      Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in October.

51-year-old Shawn Edwards from the Township of Selwyn, has been charged with:

–      Breach of firearms regulation – store firearm or restricted weapon – three counts

–      Unauthorized possession of a firearm – six counts

Custody of the accused was transferred to Peterborough Police.
