KAWARTHAS-Local entrepreneur Tim Jeffries, referred to by CBC Radio as the “Rockstar of Dinosaur Expertise,” has announced a cross-Canada tour to the East Coast in August of 2025. The National Touring Museum’s headline presenter, Jeffries will be bringing his mind-boggling dinosaur lectures coast to coast including real T. rex teeth, a Triceratops horn, and a full-size portion of the world’s largest T. rex skull.
Peterborough Based National Touring Museum Announces Cross Canada Tour For 2025
Jeffries’ National Touring Museum is the only education lecture series with real dinosaur bones and fossils. The National Touring Museum’s collection so far houses over 350 dinosaur bones. Lecturing about the amazing and fascinating world of dinosaurs, Jeffries teaches about how they became the dominant species on the planet, to their untimely demise. A fully interactive museum presentation that informs, involves, and inspires everyone who attends. In 2024, Jeffries held over 50 talks across Canada and has plans to grow and expand in 2025 and is already booking libraries, schools and museums in 2026.
“The National Touring Museum gives students the opportunity to see and handle real fossils and casts. Those kinds of hands-on contacts make a significant impact on credibility of education,” says Dr. Philip J. Currie, MSc, PhD, FRSC Professor and Canada Research Chair, Dinosaur Paleobiology.
A recent graduate of the Starter Company Plus program, Jeffries is grateful for what he has learned as he expands his business as he tours across Canada. The National Touring Museum stops at museums, public libraries, community halls, and extraordinary events like the Rockhound Gemboree in Bancroft in which Jeffries is the only lecturer for all four days.
“The National Touring Museum, led by Tim Jeffries, is not only preserving history, it’s making it,” says Rose Terry, Manager of the Business Advisory Centre at Community Futures Peterborough. “We are incredibly proud to have supported such an exceptional and visionary business through the Starter Company Plus program. Tim’s passion, innovation, and dedication to bringing prehistoric wonders to communities across Canada is exactly the kind of impact we strive to champion at Community Futures Peterborough.”
In mid-August Tim will be heading to the East Coast with events throughout Nova Scotia and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Each stop is an immersive, hands-on experience where visitors can see, touch, and learn about real fossils from the age of dinosaurs.
“This is where we make history come alive,” said Jeffries. “We exist to ignite curiosity and bring history to life. Every time we stop in a new community, the energy is incredible, and we sell out fast. It is a presentation for all ages, and everyone learns something new about these amazing creatures.”
Jeffries, a fan-favorite among science educators and fossil fanatics alike, is known for his dynamic, interactive presentations that blend storytelling, science, and showmanship.
“The presentation was amazing – Tim Jeffries was an excellent presenter,” says Karen Smith, Librarian for Gander Public Library in Newfoundland. “He was very engaging and informative. He knew his information and made it interactive for all. Both children and adults alike were caught up with interest. There were children that didn’t even want the presentation to be over.”
Following the East Coast leg of the tour, Tim Jeffries will be heading out west in late September with his lecture tour as well as hunt for new dinosaur fossils and research for future tours.
