Charges Laid After Intimate Partner Violence Incident

NORTHUMBERLAND-The Northumberland OPP has charged one person following an intimate partner violence incident.

On July 3, 2025, at around 9:10 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a location in the township of Alnwick/Haldimand. Officers arrived and took one person into custody. There were no serious injuries involved.

As a result, a 49-year-old female from Cobourg, has been charged with:

  • Assault – spousal
  • Assault with a weapon – spousal
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.
