Three People Injured In Canada Day Crash

PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews attended a serious single vehicle collision in Ennismore on Canada Day.

On Tuesday July 1, 2025, at approximately 3:00pm, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding a vehicle that had left the roadway making contact with a culvert before coming to rest in the ditch. The caller advised that there were three people in the vehicle, one who seemed to be seriously injured.

Witnesses advised that the vehicle, a grey Volkswagen, had been travelling westbound on Edenderry Line, west of Tara Road, when it swerved and left the roadway.

The vehicle contained three occupants, two adults and a one-year-old infant, all of which were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The female adult passenger sustained life threatening/altering injuries as a result of the collision and was later air lifted to a Toronto area trauma centre.

Edenderry Line remained closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the collision and officers trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
