KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP has laid multiple impaired driving charges since June 21, 2025
On June 21, 2025, at approximately 4:08 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a Off-road vehicle for an Off-Road Vehicle act offence on Alvar Road. Through investigation the driver was charged with Impaired driving offences.
Dayan Worsley 33-year-old of Cameron, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Fail to wear proper helmet
- Fail to surrender evidence of insurance
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
On June 22, 2025, at approximately 10:58 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Monck Road. A driver had approached the officers and through investigation the driver was charged with Impaired driving offences.
Daniel McLellan, 40-year-old of Mount Albert, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance
On June 23, 2025, at approximately 1:33 p.m., officers attended a motor vehicle collision after reports of a possible impaired driver on County Road 41. Through investigation the driver was charged with Impaired driving offences.
Ciji Campbell, 39-year-old of Scarborough, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Driver fail to surrender licence
All are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.
All received a 90 day licence suspension and their vehicles have been impounded for 7 days.
Police say if you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
