Fifth Impaired Driving Charged Laid By The OPP In Under A Week

PETERBOROUGH COUNTY-Officers from the Peterborough County OPP have charged a fifth individual with impaired in less than a week.

On June 11, 2025, at approximately 5:15pm, Peterborough County OPP officers received a call regarding an individual that had been found within a vehicle and was not conscious. The complainant was concerned that the driver may have had a medical episode, so EMS was contacted as well. Officers arrived on scene to find that EMS had already transported the driver to a local hospital for assessment. Officers attended the hospital and upon speaking with the driver, the driver was arrested and then later transported to an OPP detachment for further testing where they provided samples of their breath registering over three (3) times the legal limit.

Krystal Lack (age 54) of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·       Operation while impaired

·       Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
