Peterborough County OPP Charge Four People With Impaired In Less Than A week

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP officers have charged four individuals with impaired in less than a week.

On June 6, 2025, at approximately 10:30pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on County Road 4 in Douro-Dummer Township. Officers spoke with the driver of a vehicle that had entered the R.I.D.E. While speaking with the driver, the officer noted an open container of alcohol according to police. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

Eddie Williams-Watson (age 35) of Curve Lake, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

On June 8, 2025, just prior to 2:30am, Peterborough County OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint where an individual was believed to be impaired when leaving a residence. Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for testing.

Mandy Alleston (age 43) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 22, 2025.

On Tuesday June 10, 2025, just after 3:00pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Highway 28 in Douro-Dummer Township. The complainant advised that the vehicle appeared to be having difficulties maintaining it’s lane. Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle.

Jonathan Maika (age 31) of Pembroke, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

On Tuesday June 10, 2025, just prior to 9:30pm, a Peterborough County OPP officer was patrolling on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township when they received an alert on their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system regarding a vehicle that had passed in the opposite direction. The officer conducted a traffic stop to speak with the driver about the issue related to the licence plate. During the conversation, the officer determined the driver might be under the influence of alcohol and an arrest was made. The driver was transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

Jody Nicholas (age 38) of Norwood, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Fail to surrender insurance card

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused had their driver’s licence further suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 8, 2025.
