KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a single vehicle collision.
On Sunday June 08, 2025 at approximately 8 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle driving southbound on Eldon Road that failed to stop at the stop sign and drove straight into the southbound ditch of Ramsey Road. Officers arrested and charged the driver with impaired driving related charges.
Jesse Mercier, 33-year-old of Prince Albert, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.
