UPDATE-County Road 36 Closed Following Serious Collision

TRENT LAKES-The Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews are currently on scene of a serious collision that occurred at approximately 8:30am today, on County Road 36 between Edwina Drive and County Road 507.

Police say a three-vehicle collision occurred as a result of a westbound minivan and an eastbound sedan colliding. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the sedan is being airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre for further treatment. Two youths that were passengers in the minivan were also transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries and as a precaution. The third involved vehicle suffered minor damage and no injuries were reported.

County Road 36 is closed in both directions and will remain closed while emergency crews deal with the collision and police members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. Please avoid the area and expect delays.
