Parks Canada Expands Partial Closure Of Trent Severn Waterway

KAWARTHA LAKES-Parks Canada will be expanding the partial closure of navigation to restore seasonal levels as safely and efficiently as possible. The closure will include Lock 19 – Scotts Mills, and Lock 22 – Nassau Mills to Lock 27 – Youngs Point, effective 4 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025. The previously announced closures of Lock 1-Trenton to Lock 18 – Hastings also remain in effect until further notice.

Lock 20 – Ashburnham, Lock 21 – Peterborough Lift Lock, Lock 28 – Burleigh Falls to Lock 45 – Port Severn, and the Murray Canal remain open to navigation.

As a reminder, residents and boaters from Buckhorn Lake to Youngs Point, and from Swift Rapids to Georgian Bay, can expect maximum water levels and flows during navigation hours, and increased flows outside of navigation hours until further notice.
