Expect Closures Of The Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge As Crews Test New Components

KAWARTHA LAKES- Over the coming weeks, Parks Canada maintenance crews will be testing and commissioning new components in preparation for the opening of the 2025 navigation season.

In November 2024, Parks Canada started the permanent end lift installations at the Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge, which supports normal bridge swing operations.

While workers are on site and components are being tested, intermittent closures may be experienced. These intermittent closures will be timed to minimize impacts on the community. When closures of over one (1) hour in duration are planned, a notification will be emailed 24 hours prior to the disruption. For more information on this project, visit the Trent-Severn Waterway website.

“Parks Canada extends our sincere gratitude to the Bobcaygeon community for their patience and understanding. We remain committed to minimizing disruptions while ensuring the safety and functionality of this vital transportation link.” said officials.
