Nancy Hanna, Founder Of The Dragon Flies Receives Kings Coronation Medal

KAWARTHA LAKES-The founder of the Dragon Flies has been awarded the King Charles Coronation Medal. In a surprise ceremony at the Oakwood Lions Hall, Hanna was honoured for her 23 years of service raising money an awareness of breast cancer. The Dragon Flies is a Dragon boat team made up of a group of cancer survivors. Since 2002 they have raised almost $1.7 million for local cancer initiatives including $430,000 for the Ross memorial Hospital. Hanna is a driving force behind the initiative.
