KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Fire And Rescue recently took possession of four new fire trucks.
Chief Terry Jones told Kawartha 411 News the trucks will replace existing fire apparatus. Station 1, Station 3, Station 14, Station 7, Station 17 and Station 20 will be impacted by
the apparatus changes as some of the replaced apparatus will also be relocating to
other stations to replace older apparatus.
Officials say the new vehicles were included and approved within the 2023 Budget. Two tanker trucks worth $1.75 million were in the budget along with one pumper truck with a cost of $824,000. The fourth truck was a back order from a previous budget according to the City.
