Barrie Resident Charged With Impaired Driving In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Kings Wharf Road regarding a vehicle stuck in a ditch On February 7, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver, and after conducting an investigation charges were laid.

34-year-old Kimberly Elliott of Barrie was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and Operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg).

As a result of the charges, the driver received a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The OPP reminds all drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving. The OPP remains committed to removing impaired drivers from the roads through both enforcement and public education. Arrive alive, drive sober.
