ONTARIO-On the one-year anniversary of Melanie Lapish’s disappearance, a $50,000 reward is now being offered for information.
On March 9, 2024, members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a missing person report for 35-year-old Melanie Lapish, who was last seen at approximately 9:00 p.m. on February 26, 2024, in Fort Frances.
Melanie is described as female, approximately 5’9″ (175 cm) and 110 lbs (50 kg), with blue-green eyes, long dirty blonde hair and a nose ring. She was last seen wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and a toque.
The Government of the Province of Ontario is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Melanie Lapish.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Rainy River District OPP under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). Assistance is also being provided by the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services, OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine.
